The Practitioner

Tim Schmidgall, CMT, FMT

I am a Certified Massage Therapist and hold a degree in Clinical Sports Massage from Saint Paul College.  As well as owning and operating Bodysmith Massage Therapy, I also work as a Soigneur for a Domestic Professional cycling team.

Born and raised in rural Minnesota, I have spent most of my life using my hands.  From throwing bales as a teenager to landscaping through my 20's, I've gotten the most satisfaction out of being able to work with them.  I also still have my childhood fascination with mechanical devices.  To me, the human body is one of the most fantastic examples of such a device.  Happily, for my mother, I am no longer taking apart her small kithen appliances.  I now apply this fascination to my work as a massage therapist.

My  Philosophy

My approach to massage is of a whole body view. I believe that to address a specific issue or area of pain, one must also consider the tissue that is acting against it. Releasing this tissue allows the target area to reset. I also believe that the benefits of therapeutic massage are greatly increased by mixing in some more relaxing techniques. I feel that this gives the client, and their tissues, a chance to relax and catch their breath, making for a more enjoyable experience.
